In Honor Of The King
Karen Outreach is based in the Kingdom of Thailand, formerly known as Siam. We want to honor one of the greatest earthly monarch of all time, who's life, in our minds, reflects on the life of Christ, our heavenly King. Although a devoted Buddhist, late king Bhumibol Adulyadej who passed away October 13, 2016 at 88 years of age, demonstrated the characteristics true to basic Christian principles.
His life demonstrated true unselfishness for the betterment of his people. His example was one of charity and tender regards for the aged, the weak, the outcast and he was not a respecter of persons. Each person in His kingdom was valuable. He stooped down to give encouragement to all, his compassion and personal involvement, his tears mingled with perspiration as he would bow down to minister to the poor Karen mountain people made him great-He guided his kingdom in love, peace, freedom, democracy, justice and reconciliation. He was a servant leader, beloved as a father to all Thai people.
His life was marked with humility as he trod the streets, the mountains and valleys in an effort to bring his nation education, commerce, agriculture, manufacturing, art and human rights.
The kingdom of Thailand has announced a year of mourning and weeping is heard all through the land. Tears are flowing at the passing of this great father and king.
It is our prayer that the people of Thailand will come to know their Heavenly Father and King.
We share the basic foundational principles of Buddhism which is purity, freedom from defilement and sin, acts of charity and benevolence, self denial and selfless living. Yet we believe in an all powerful God and creator; Our true eternal Heavenly father and king of the universe, who has a personal interest in each person and who sent his own son to take upon himself the form of man, as to identify himself with fallen humanity. Jesus Christ shouldered the cross, dying on behalf of the sins of the world. A perfect sacrifice without blemish- that we might inherit eternal life through Him.
We with the Thai people mourn over this tremendous loss, and fear for the future of this nation, Yet trust our omnipotent omnipresent God, who rules the affairs of man and holds the future in His hands. We pray for peace and continued religious freedom for Thailand.
